BBL Cup 2023: BG Göttingen’s Journey and Upcoming Matches

Even the 150 percent basketball fans probably haven’t really noticed it yet: But from Saturday the first competitive games for the top-class teams are on the calendar: The BBL Cup begins!

Vechta/Göttingen – BG Göttingen is not yet involved in the first round, but is looking to Vechta with interest. Because SC Rasta, which has returned to the Bundesliga after two years in the 2nd Pro A league, is the opponent of the violets. The promoted team will be hosting the Rostock Seawolves on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The new streaming service DYN will broadcast the game live.

The winner of Vechta against Rostock then won on the 14th/15th. October home advantage against BG Göttingen. On Wednesday, the Violets defeated Limburg (Belgium) 89:72 in the dress rehearsal for Champions League qualification. BG coach Foucart: “We still have to do a lot of things better. But the intensity and energy were right for almost the entire 40 minutes. That is the basis. We have to stop the little mistakes that hurt. We are not yet where we want to be.”

. Four weeks after the start of broadcasting, the streaming service DYN is having its basketball premiere this week. The sports broadcaster is starting its reporting with the BBL Cup; the duel on Friday (8 p.m.) between second division team BBC Bayreuth and Bundesliga team MLP Academics Heidelberg is the first of up to 551 basketball games that DYN will broadcast live in 2023/24.

In the BBL Cup, participants from the 2nd league (ProA) are back for the first time after a 14-year break. Eight teams will meet the BBL teams that took places 9 to 16 in the final table of last season.

The Bundesliga season begins on September 27th with the encounter between champions ratiopharm Ulm and the Niners Chemnitz. The Champions League is also running at DYN. Up to 184 Champions League, up to 344 BBL and 23 cup games are shown. Basketball is the fourth sport to begin its seasonal operations at Dyn Sport. Handball, table tennis and hockey have already started.
