London. The BBC announced Monday the sale of its Maida Vale studios in London, which became famous because some of the world’s best-known singers and groups, such as the Beatles and Beyoncé, recorded there.
The British network said in a statement that it sold the venue to producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, composer Hanz Zimmer and his partner Steven Kofsky.
We are very happy to guarantee a sale that will allow us to maintain a bright and dynamic future of musical creation in this emblematic building, said the head of music at the BBC, about the headquarters that it acquired in 1933.
The new buyers expressed their determination to perpetuate the BBC’s legacy at Maida Vale, in statements quoted in the statement.
The studios, located in a neighborhood of the same name in west London, recorded their songs by musical stars such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Beyoncé.
