“The British Background Service (MI5) has made false deposits in the courts to protect its neo -Nazis and violent agent,” according to BBC reportage.
The British network reports that Mi5 people lied to three courts to defend the handling of intelligence services for a neo -Nazi agent who attacked his girlfriend with a knife.
Citing secrecy, the Mi5 told the judges that it had complied with its policy not to confirm or refuse the identity of the informants.
However, the Mi5 had revealed this case to telephone calls to the journalist, as he tried to persuade him so that he would not investigate the person, known as agent X.
The service continued to be aggressive until data were presented – including a recording – that proved, according to the BBC, was lying.
According to the BBC:
“Mi5 initially lied to a court case where the government tried to prevent the BBC from reporting Agent X’s attack with a knife- and managed to ban us from nameing the person. The security service then repeated the lie to a special court, where the woman who was attacked with a knife – known as the nickname Beth – was looking for answers about Mi5’s attitude to her agent. He repeated the lie again in a judicial review, where Beth questioned the court’s ruling. A senior officer said he was legally authorized to tell us that X was an agent – so the Mi5 had not complied with her policy not to confirm or refuse the identity of the agents. MI5’s general manager phoned the BBC General Manager to challenge the BBC’s position for Agent X, calling it “inaccurate”. “
In an unprecedented assumption, however, the Mi5 apologized to the BBC in all three courts, describing what happened as a “serious mistake”, adding that it “assumes full responsibility”.
