Jasmiina recently said that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which has spread to the tissues next to the uterus and to the lymph nodes on both sides of the thighs. Jasmiina tells Iltalehti that she doesn’t want to think about the length of her treatment plan any more because she doesn’t want to cause herself more stress.

– But at the moment, we’re going at least until the beginning of summer, so that we can get the first treatments done. Then we’ll see what the situation is, the TV personality says.

– I have very close doctor’s appointments: every day, except on weekends. Yes, this is time-consuming. At the moment, I live and breathe this, and after the hospital visits, I am completely exhausted and tired, he says.

Pain and humor

Jasmiina hopes that she would get rid of her pain. The pains usually strike at night, which has led to insomnia. One night he only slept a couple of hours.

– I am in extreme pain, especially at night. I have been prescribed painkillers all the time – recently even daily, says Jasmiina.

– It is a type of pain that is extremely challenging to make completely painless. Of course, I still have the option of coming to the ward if I really can’t cope with my pain. But I still try to stay at home because it is an important asset for me at the moment, he adds.

Jasmiina said on Thursday in her Instagram stories that she laughs at what kind of condition she is in. Jasmiina confirms that the update was related to her cancer.

– I always think that nothing worse can happen. Then the night before was absolutely shocking, the TV personality opens.

– When things go much worse, it suddenly becomes a bit comical. In this situation, it is necessary to somehow make things amusing, even if it is not amusing at all, he continues.

– I was told that “then you wait until you have such a symptom and this happens to you”. I said that I want to see how my body reacts to these treatments, because no one’s body reacts the same way, says Jasmiina.

– Of course, people have a strong need to share the experiences of someone they know or things they have heard. Peer support is really important, and I’m not underestimating it at all. But the story of someone’s neighbor in this situation does not help my life in any way, he reminds.

Jasmiina emphasizes that she plans to talk more about her situation once the treatment process has been properly started. Right now, he’s trying to encourage himself in the middle of it all.

– I want to keep my mind open and positive and tell myself that I’m really energetic, he says at the end.
