Vienna (OTS / SK) – “Sexual education can be of vital importance for children and young people as well as for adults later on. Sexual education has been a teaching principle for 50 years. I use this milestone birthday to point out the importance of sexual education for all children and adolescents, especially during the pandemic, ”said Petra Bayr, SPÖ member of the National Council, on the day before the anniversary. On November 25, 1970, the then Federal Ministry for Education and the Arts issued the decree “Sex Education in Schools”. “Sexual education is the best prevention work against sexual abuse, teenage pregnancies and for healthy sexuality and health education,” emphasizes Bayr. “There is a need to expand the range of offers and bring more experts to schools so that boys and girls have competent contact persons who can end myths, break down prejudices and demystify fundamentally religious dogmas,” demands Bayr.
