Bayern Munich is having a very bad season. The team that collected a lot of titles in recent years finds itself without a championship or cup in Germany and tonight (Tuesday) at 22:00 will show up for the last chance match against Arsenal, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In the meantime, in Bavaria they are already thinking carefully about next season and alongside the search for a worthy replacement for Thomas Tuchel are discussing the construction of the squad.
In the spotlight are a number of senior players whose future in the club is unclear. At the top of the club there is an agreement that one of the positions that deserves significant strengthening is that of the back midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and Amadou Unana from Everton being leading names. Both would cost high transfer fees and the club would be willing to sell one of the current connections to finance the move. Who will pay the price?
While Leon Goretzka sees himself continuing in the team in any situation and is highly regarded in the club despite his poor ability this season, Yushua Kimmich is swinging and has not yet decided whether to extend his contract that ends next summer. Barcelona has already made it clear to him that if he chooses not to extend, they will add him for free for the 2025/26 season, while Manchester City has been mentioned as a candidate to purchase him at the end of the current season.

Now, Bild reported that in order to extend the contract, Kimmich will have to cut his salary, which is 20 million euros. Bayern made a decision to stop with the “scattering of replica contracts” and not only Kimich will have to reduce to continue but also Leroy Sane, who earns a similar salary. On the side of the attacking player there is a general willingness to sign a contract on lower terms and most likely everything will be closed even before the Euros that will be held in Germany.
Kingsley Coman’s status is also not yet clear. The French winger is signed until 2027 and is considered by many to be one of the key factors in the attack in the coming years. He is of course responsible for quite a few great moments during his time in Munich, including the winning goal in the Champions League final. However, it was reported in Germany that the Bavarians would be willing to hear offers of around 70 million euros for him and the player is open to moving to England or Spain.
