Bad scene in the top game of the women’s Bundesliga between FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg: An FCB attacker has to be carried off the field after a collision. Before that she made a serious mistake.
What a used day for FC Bayern attacker Jovana Damnjanovic! First the 29-year-old made a mistake in the top game against VfL Wolfsburg (0-2), then she possibly injured herself seriously.

Damnjanovic blames Bayern for deficit
In the champions’ guest appearance in Wolfsburg, the Serbian made the deficit to the Munich team, who had won all their games so far this season, after just five minutes.
Damnjanovic played a bad pass from the right side of defense into the feet of Vivien Endemann, and the Wolfsburg player scored shortly afterwards with a beautiful shot.

But things were to get even worse for the Serbian: in the 20th minute, Damnjanovic hit the ground badly after an aerial duel with Marina Hegering and injured himself.

Wolfsburg’s defender collided with the Bayern attacker, who was then thrown off balance in the air and hit the ground with her hip and back from a great height.
Damnjanovic immediately doubled over in pain, opponents and teammates looked concerned. It quickly became clear: it couldn’t go any further.

After minutes of treatment on the pitch, the Serbian was taken off the field on a stretcher, hiding her face behind her arm. Meanwhile there was encouraging applause from the audience. Linda Dallmann came on for the injured attacker in the 24th minute.
But Bayern couldn’t turn things around and, after another defensive mistake by Lea Schüller, even made it 0-2 (67′), which was also the final score.
Despite their first defeat this season, FCB remains in first place, but Eintracht Frankfurt can move past them with a win against SC Freiburg (The top game on Monday from 5.45 p.m. LIVE on TV on SPORT1 and in the free live stream).
Already some serious injuries
Damnjanovic has fought her way back from serious injuries several times in her career. In 2015 she suffered a sprained acromioclavicular joint, in 2016 a metatarsal fracture and in 2020 a torn cruciate ligament put her out of action.
The Serbian has been playing at FC Bayern since 2017 and just two months ago she extended her contract until 2027. She became champion three times with Bayern.
