Bayern share points with Leipzig on Sommer’s debut
The first match of the German Bundesliga after the break for the World Cup ended. The 16th round was opened by the game between Red Bull Leipzig and Bayern. The teams met at the stadium “Red Bull – Arena – Centralstadion”. The teams failed to identify the winner – 1:1.
At the 37th minute, Eric Choupo-Moting brought the Bayern forward, Serge Gnabry recorded an assist at his own expense. Seven minutes after the start of the second half, Leipzig managed to score a return goal – Marcel Halstenberg hit the gates of Jan Sommer, who played his debut match as part of Bayern.
Julian Nagelsmann’s team scored 35 points and continues to lead the Bundesliga standings. Leipzig (29) – in third position. The second line is occupied by Freiburg (30).
In the next round, Bayern will play Cologne on January 24, Red Bull will host Schalke.
