Miroslav Klose knows Krätzig from his time as a youth coach at FCB. The German World Cup record goalscorer “cannot imagine” that the youngster will prevail in Munich. In Kicker, Klose himself described a move to another Bundesliga club as “difficult”.
Hermann Gerland, who also knows Krätzig from the Bayern youth team, sees things differently. He is of the opinion: If the 20-year-old gets enough match practice, “then Frans will become a very interesting Bundesliga player. The ball obeys him.”
Krätzig signed with Bayern until 2026 at the beginning of October. The left-back hopes to be able to play a role at his long-standing club at the highest level. Nevertheless, he doesn’t rule out at least a temporary farewell.
“If FC Bayern says they need me, then I will be at the door at 7 a.m. and say: Here I am. If both sides want it, you can also think about a loan,” he told kicker. Speculation about a loan deal is not new; discussions should take place during the winter break.
Amazing: Not long ago Krätzig had to seriously consider a future outside of football. In his second year with the U19s, injuries forced him to take a seven-month break.
“You’re already thinking about what will happen if things don’t work out with football and whether you should study better.” High school graduate Krätzig then actually decided to study sports management: “Every youth player should think about it because “It can be over so quickly.”
He wants to show himself as an open guy on and off the pitch. “I’m currently living the dream that I’ve been working towards for years. I hope this is just the beginning.”
