Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry was on fire in the first half for Germany during Die Mannschaft’s impressive and dominating victory over Armenia.
The 26-year-old attacker scored goals in the 6th and 15th minutes, respectively, to lead Germany to an early 2-0 lead over the visitors.
For Gnabry, this was a welcome development, as Germany had come under some criticism for only beating Liechtenstein 2-0 earlier in the week.
“We were strong in the face of goal, although we could have scored more. It’s always a great feeling to score and help the team, ”said Gnabry (captured by Tz). “We take that euphoria with us now, so we can put in another good performance on Wednesday and get a result again.”
For Chelsea FC’s Timo Werner, contributing a goal and an assist in Stuttgart, where he was born, made this effort special.
“It is always special to go back to Stuttgart and then score. I think we showed very good attacks tonight, we had very good movement and we really pushed high, ”said Werner (as captured by the @iMiaSanMia Twitter account). “Armenia gave us more space than Liechtenstein on Thursday.”
