Bayern Munich’s Record Player Carina Wenninger Announces Retirement After This Season

Football: Bayern record player Wenninger stops after the season

Bayern Munich’s record player Carina Wenninger will end her football career after this season. The 32-year-old central defender, who currently plays for the Italian club AS Roma, announced this on Wednesday in Vienna at a press conference of the Austrian association (ÖFB). The ÖFB captain had played 303 competitive games for Bayern in 15 years (213 wins) before moving to Rome on loan at her own request last summer. At the beginning of March, FCB announced that Wenninger would not return to Munich after this season – contrary to what was originally planned.
