Bayern Munich’s Karl-Heinz Rummenigge lavishes praise on Mohamed Salah

In an interview with ON Time Sports, Bayern Munich’s Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expressed his admiration for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. The club CEO heaped praise on the Egypt international for his accomplishments with club and country, honoring him as “Africa’s Lionel Messi”.

“In my opinion, Salah is the Messi of Africa and of course he has the skills to play for the best teams in the world,” Rummenigge admitted (as captured by Mirror). “What he has achieved can be compared to what Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo did with Barcelona and Real Madrid.”

A former Chelsea man like Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Salah joined Liverpool from A.S. Roma back in 2017. He went on to win the 2018/19 edition of UEFA Champions League, and is widely considered as one of the best players on the planet. The right-footed winger is tied with the reigning Premier League winners till 2023, but has kept the door open for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

At Bayern, however, the wings remain an area that does not require any necessary reinforcement. Recognizing the importance of depth in such a crucial position, the club acquired two more wide-men in the summer to make sure that Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski continue to work magic through the center of the pitch. The deadly duo is breaking records consistently, now more than ever, since they have been supplied by a nonpareil cast of wingers this season.

Asked if Bayern are pondering over a mega move for the 28-year old, Kalle acknowledged — “At the moment we don’t plan on signing Salah, but certainly it would be an honour to have him.”
