The Polish striker, voted the best player in the world by FIFA in 2020, is in the plans of several teams.
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, the latest winner of the FIFA World’s Best Player award, some time ago opened the door to leave the Bayern Munich, but the German club ruled out the possibility in the last hours.
“I have an open mind. I feel very good at Bayern, the city is magnificent, it is a great club, but I was always curious to learn a new language, a new culture, to grow. I don’t know if it will be in football or after my career, I don’t even know, but it’s what I want”, The 32-year-old scorer had declared before joining his team to play in the European Championship.
But in the last hours, Hebert Hainer, the club’s new president, was categorical in the face of the interest of various teams in Europe and even Major League Soccer in the United States: “Robert is the best striker in the world. He still has two years left on his contract here and I can imagine keeping him with us longer.”.
The manager even referred to the chance that Lewandowski surpasses Gerd Muller as Bayern’s top scorer: “Muller has 365 goals and Robert has now reached 277. If he stays in shape and renews with us, he may reach it. I think he can do it all, Lewandowski is a real blessing to us”.
