Bayern Munich Signs Kim Min-jae: South Korean Defender Joins Die Roten

Munich

Bayern Munich finally made the move official Kim Min-jae. The South Korean defender has a five-year contract.

Kim has just been announced as a new player after being redeemed for 50 million euros from Napoli, Tuesday (18/7/2023) evening WIB. He will wear number 3 at Bayern.

“Minjae Kim is on the rise once again, he just won the Italian League with SSC Napoli and was named the best defender in Serie A. He has a good physique with mentality and speed. We are happy that he can start training as soon as possible and we are sure that he can inspire our fans with style of play,” said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen as quoted by the official website of Die Roten.

Kim has only strengthened Napoli for one season after being brought in from Fenerbahce. He immediately helped Napoli win the Italian League title with 35 appearances in the league.

In addition, Kim also advanced Il Partenopei to the Champions League Quarterfinals before being eliminated by AC Milan. Kim made two goals and two assists in the Italian League.

Napoli made a lot of profit with Kim’s sale because it was only bought for 18 million euros. Kim Min-jae also appeared at the 2022 World Cup with South Korea before being knocked out in the Round of 16.

Kim Min-jae became Bayern’s third purchase this summer after Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro who came for free.
