Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer is full of positivity when thinking about the young players in the club and new manager Julian Nagelsmann.
In a recent interview with Bayern Munich’s club magazine “51”, Hainer talked about the club’s ambition to stay at the top and to build with it cast of young players.
“And of course, after our fifth star, the ambition must therefore be to win the tenth German championship in a row,” Hainer remarked. “At FC Bayern there is only ever one direction: forward. It just has to be the goal now to shape a new era full of success. The prerequisites for this are very good. Incidentally, he also has a football background that FC Bayern fans want to see. After his engagement, I only received positive feedback. ”
Nagelsmann will, indeed, be tasked with guiding a young core of players for the next few seasons as the teams veterans begin their descent from the limelight. If Hainer is correct, this will be a seamless transition.
“Julian Nagelsmann is one of the most sought-after coaches in top international football. At just 33 years of age, he has proven that he can develop top-level teams and stands for football that inspires fans. We have had him on our radar for a long time and are now very happy that he is coming to us,” Hainer said. “He is an absolute football expert who goes innovative ways and approaches things extremely openly. I also think he’s cool as a personality. I like the way he deals with pressure, the way he talks to his players and that he can laugh at himself from time to time. Our first contact was a text message from him late one evening. He wrote that since the Champions League was still running that day, he assumed that I was still awake and that he could report. I found that refreshing.”
