The Swabians beat FC Augsburg 4-0 (2-0) on Sunday and marked their fifth win in their fifth competitive game of the season. Heidenheim is ahead of Bayern Munich, who also maintain six points with a 2-0 (1-0) victory against SC Freiburg after two rounds.
Bayern loanee Wanner gave Heidenheim the lead with a handball penalty (9th) and now has four competitive goals. Léo Scienza (30th), Adrian Beck (69th) and Maximilian Breunig (73rd) scored the other goals in front of 15,000 spectators and ensured the next day of celebration at the Ostalb. Mathias Honsak came on from the 81st minute for Heidenheim, who qualified for the Conference League.
Thanks to the better goal difference, Heidenheim is ahead of Bayern and RB Leipzig. The Munich team fulfilled their duty in the game of Thomas Müller’s personal record and won in front of 75,000 spectators in the sold-out area after the goals of Harry Kane (38th / handball penalty) and Jubilar Müller (78th).
