German football clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were given time to think about an offer to join the European Super League (ESL). However, Bundesliga participants have long rejected a separate competition.
According to Spiegel magazine, they were given 30 days to consider, if they accept the proposal, they will automatically include them among the founding members. The same offer was given to Paris by St. Germain, however, must decide within 14 days.
Twelve clubs from England, Italy and Spain announced the formation of the European Superliga on Monday: AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
Their intention is to launch a twenty-member competition from August, while the fifteen founding members will have a certain place in the following seasons.
