Bayern Munich, the second German football league, confirmed that its French winger, Kingsley Coman, and its Moroccan defender, Nassir Mazraoui, will miss “the upcoming matches” due to a thigh injury.
Both players suffered injuries in the match in which “Bavarians” won against their host, Manchester United, England, 1-0, in the last sixth round of the group stage of the Champions League, and Koeman scored the only goal.
The German champion said in a statement, “Bayern will miss Kingsley Coman and Nassir Mazraoui in its upcoming matches.”
There are two matches left for Bayern Munich in the German League, before the winter break, as it hosts Stuttgart III on Sunday, and will visit Wolfsburg next Wednesday.
Bayern Munich ranks second in the league, four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, but coach Thomas Tuchel’s men have a postponed match against Union Berlin.
Bayern, which eliminated United empty-handed on the continent, qualified for the quarter-finals of the prestigious continental competition, topping the first group against Copenhagen of Denmark, Galatasaray of Turkey, and the “Red Devils.”
