Munich (dpa/lby) – As in the previous year, the rating agency Moody’s also gave Bavarian financial policy the top rating after Standard & Poors. “With our government draft for the double budget 2024/2025, we will continue to pursue our path in the future and are committed to financial and economic stability and planning security in Bavaria,” said Finance Minister Albert Füracker (CSU) on Saturday in Munich. In its communication on the rating, the agency highlights the Free State’s consistently good financial policy. This is based on a strong and diversified economy with a gross domestic product per capita that is well above the national average.
A few days earlier, Füracker had already announced that the rating agency Standard & Poor’s had given Bayern the top rating.
Financial ratings express how creditworthy a company or country is. The better the rating, the more creditworthy the person being rated is. This means that, from the agency’s perspective, with a good rating there is a higher probability that loans granted can be repaid without any problems. In practice, this also leads to better loan conditions.
