Munich –
Bayern Munich will lose their flagship bomber, Robert Lewandowski. The Reds also moved to find a new striker to replace Lewandowski.
Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern only has one year remaining. The Polish striker decided not to extend his contract at the Allianz Arena.
“I can confirm that I have spoken to Hasan [Salihamidzic, direktur olahraga], and notifies the decision has been made. I will not renew my contract with Bayern,” Lewandowski told Sky Germany.
Robert Lewandowski already linked with a move to a top European club. Barcelona became the leading team who wanted the services of the 32-year-old player.
Bayern Munich began looking to bring in a new striker to replace Lewandowski. Several names are reportedly considered by the club’s board of directors.
Sadio Mane became one of the targeted Bayern. Bayern director, Hasan Salihamidzic, claimed to have met representatives of the Liverpool bomber last week.
Mane’s contract with Liverpool expires in 2023. So far no new cooperation agreement has been given The Reds to the Senegalese star.
Apart from Mane, Bayern are also interested in the Stuttgart striker, Sasa Kalajdzic. The Austrian footballer performed brilliantly in the second half of the 2021/2022 German League with a collection of 6 goals from 15 matches.
Kalajdzic still has one more year on his contract at Stuttgart. Bayern Munich have to spend around 20 million euros if you want to bring the 24-year-old striker.
