Former Bayern star Arjen Robben postpones retirement and returns to his youth club FC Groningen.
The Dutch first division said on Saturday. The 36-year-old Robben had previously kept himself fit at Bayern on Säbener Straße.
Robben started his career in 1999 in the Groningen youth and left the club in 2002 in the direction of PSV Eindhoven. He announced the end of his career at the end of the 2018/19 season.
“During this time, the club can use all the help it can get in the corona crisis. I took part in many actions myself and thought about what else I can do,” said the 2013 Champions League winner: “It started to tickle and now it’s my mission. I’m working on my comeback as a footballer. “
The club and Robben will hold a joint press conference on Sunday.
