Bayern visited the promotion club Greuther Fuerth at the Trolli Arena, Saturday (25/9/2021) early morning WIB. Without difficulty Bayern had led 1-0 in the 10th minute through Thomas Mueller.
The goal was continued by Joshua Kimmich in the 31st minute. Bayern were put to the test when Benjamin Pavard was sent off early in the second half for tackling Julian Green.
Despite playing 10 men, Bayern continued to dominate and even added a goal through Sebastian Griesback’s own goal in the 68th minute. Greuther Fuerth could only cut the score at the end of normal time through Cedric Ittan.
Bayern also confirmed its position at the top of the standings with 16 points, three points ahead of Wolfsburg in second place and four points from Borussia Dortmund.
Only dropping two points from six games so far shows Bayern are fine with Nageslmann as coach. Moreover, Nagelsmann has recorded a record after the victory this morning.
With a total of 23 goals scored by Bayern, Nagelsmann set a new record as the first coach at the Bavarian club to score so many goals in his first six league games.
Bayern Munich even became the most productive team in Europe with 36 goals when entering the month of September.
“We are happy that we won, that’s the most important thing. We had a good start, the first 10 minutes we controlled and scored fast goals. We did struggle to create chances despite controlling the game, but we finally managed to score the second goal,” he said. Julian Nagelsmann on the club’s official website.
“At the start of the second half, we had some difficult situations, one of which was a red card. Then it was a matter of finding the balance between pressing the opponent and changing the pattern to a midfield three. We played very well, defended well, apart from conceding a goal. We were just not good enough in the final third.”
