Series final in the Bundesliga.
Then Bayern Munich was lowered – by their own player.
– I am cursed, says Thomas Müller after 0-3 against Bayer Leverkusen.
Barely 20 minutes into the match, Robert Andrich hit a cross from the left.
It was met by Josip Stanisic, who pushed in 1–0 to Leverkusen.
The goal was the 23-year-old’s first for the club. And afterwards he raised his arms in an apologetic gesture to the opposing team.
The full-back was born in Munich and belongs to Bayern – where he represented both junior, reserve and A teams before being loaned out for the season.
– I don’t score very often, so actually I wanted to celebrate. But out of respect I didn’t do it, says the goalscorer.

“Had to suffer”
Afterwards, Thomas Tuchel expressed displeasure with Stanisic being allowed to play.
– In England there is a fine rule where loaned players are not allowed to play against their club. Unfortunately not in Germany, and today we had to suffer for it, says Bayern’s coach to Sky.
At the start of the second half, Alex Grimaldo extended the home team’s lead. And in the last additional minute, Jeremie Frimpong established the winning numbers to a clear 3-0.
With this, the successful team moves to the top of the Bundesliga. Now there are five points down to Bayern in second place.
In addition, Xabi Alonso’s team is still undefeated this season. Neither in the league, the cup or the Europa League.
Never won the league
After the advance, Bayern’s streak of eleven straight German league titles is in jeopardy.
Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, have never won the Bundesliga.
On the other hand, they have finished second five times. And after the 2001/02 season, the club was nicknamed “Neverkusen” – when they finished second in the league, and lost the finals of both the German Cup and the Champions League.
Heidenheim awaits in the next round. For Bayern, a trip to Rome and a match against Lazio in the CL applies.
