Bawaslu West Jakarta (Jakbar) intervened regarding a party billboard which collapsed and hit a motorbike in Kembangan. Bawaslu will coordinate with the local Panwaslu.
“It will be coordinated with friends in the sub-district (Panwaslu Kembangan),” said the Coordinator of the Prevention and Supervision Division of Public Relations and Relations between West Jakarta Bawaslu Institutions, Abdul Rouf when met, as reported by BetweenFriday (29/12/2023).
“Maybe the report has been submitted, but I don’t know what happened,” he added.
Rouf said that the Panwaslu would later coordinate with the relevant parties. He said this incident also happened in Tambora.
“Later, when you have reached Panwaslu, then proceed to the political party concerned,” said Rouf.
“A similar incident also occurred in Tambora, about a week ago,” he added.
Rouf said the victim in Tambora had suffered serious injuries so he had to be fitted with gibs. The party then visited the victim and took responsibility.
“At that time we coordinated with the political party administrators and they came to visit. Yes, provide some kind of accountability,” said Rouf.
Previously, a motorbike in Kembangan, West Jakarta, was reportedly hit by party billboards installed along the shoulder of the road. The motorcyclist was injured.
In the circulating CCTV video as seen detikcom, Friday (29/12), initially motorbikes were passing on the left side of the road. From the CCTV footage, it can be seen that the party billboard suddenly collapsed and hit two men on a motorbike.
As a result of this incident, the two motorbikes behind him fell. The billboard got caught in one of the motorbikes and caused his lip to cut and bleed.
Kembangan Police Chief Commissioner Billy Gustiano said there had been no police report regarding the incident that occurred. However, the police are still investigating.
“What is clear is that up to now there has been no report regarding the information in the video. We will investigate later. We are still investigating the information in the video,” said Billy when contacted, Friday (29/1).
