1338. Road accident between two cyclists; two wounded – Bogenhausen
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, around 12:15 am, a 31-year-old resident of Munich was riding a bicycle on Hultschiner Strasse towards the city. He was driving on the cycle path, which was open in both directions according to traffic signs.
According to the current status of the investigation, an unknown person was riding a bicycle on the same bicycle path in the opposite direction. The unidentified cyclist swerved into the snake lanes and swerved onto the adjacent pavement and back into the bike path several times.
As they passed, there was a disturbance between the two cyclists. As a result of the accident, both fell to the ground and were injured. The 31-year-old man was treated on an outpatient basis at the scene of the accident by emergency services. The previously unidentified cyclist was taken to hospital by emergency services.
A breath alcohol test carried out at the scene of the accident on the previously unknown cyclist showed that he was not highly intoxicated. After consultation with the public prosecutor’s office, the previously unknown cyclist was temporarily arrested after completing medical treatment and will be brought before an investigating judge at Munich police headquarters further today to clarify the issue of his arrest.
He was reported for, among other things, endangering road traffic, grievous bodily harm and violations of the residential law.

1339. Accident with special police vehicle – Giesing
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, around 12:45 p.m., a special police vehicle (video surveillance vehicle) with an extended camera mast went east on Candidstrasse. At the intersection with Grünwalder Straße, you should cross it straight ahead. The extended camera mast of the special police vehicle hit a line above the tram, which was running perpendicular to the path of travel. As a result, the overhead line was knocked down and the camera mast on the vehicle broke.
No one was injured and the intersection between Candidstrasse and Grünwalder Strasse had to be partially closed for several hours. This caused a traffic jam. The total damage is estimated at a five-figure sum.

1340. Burglary in a restaurant – Lehel
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, between 5:10 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., a previously unknown perpetrator gained access to a restaurant in Lehel. The perpetrator stole a safe with a scratch and left the restaurant.
Thanks to a tracker in the safe, it was possible to find the safe and find it on Pfarrstrasse at number 5. The safe was not opened. It is clear that the perpetrator did not manage to break it open.
Extensive forensic investigations were carried out by the Munich criminal police.

In the period from Friday, August 23, 2024, 8:00 p.m., to Saturday, August 24, 2024, 8:00 p.m., a previously unknown perpetrator tried to enter an apartment in the Berchemstrasse area through a window.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, between 7:15 pm and 10:15 pm, a previously unknown perpetrator gained unauthorized access to a single-family home in the Veit-Stoß-Straße area.
The perpetrator searched the premises and stole jewelery worth several thousand euros.

1342. Fire – Thalkirchen
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, around 9:50 pm, the police emergency number 110 and the rescue control center were contacted about a fire in an apartment building on Zennerstrasse (Thalkirchen). Several patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The fire department immediately began to extinguish the fire on the apartment building.
According to the current status of the investigation, a 47-year-old resident of the apartment complex was injured in the fire. She was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
The fire was extinguished by the fire department. The surrounding streets were completely closed for several hours while the fire was extinguished.
It is currently estimated that the material damage is several hundred thousand euros.
