Bavarian Handball Association – District of Altbayern mourns the loss of Joachim “Jotsch” Henschker

It was with great sadness that the district game management of the handball district game management Altbayern learned of the completely unexpected death of Joachim “Jotsch” Henschker

Jotsch was highly valued not only in the handball department of his club MTV Ingolstadt but also by all the clubs in the district that had dealings with him for his friendly, respectful and always helpful manner and his appreciative interaction with everyone.

His great commitment in various functions was not limited to his club. Jotsch initially worked as a class leader in the youth division of the Donau/Ilm handball district and has been active as a referee since 1980.

After the BHV structural reform and the founding of the Altbayern district, he remained in handball as a referee until 2019 and took over responsibility for adult games in the district as game director until 2023.

With the death of Jotsch Henschker, the district game management of the Altbayern district not only loses a dedicated referee and always helpful game manager, but also a good friend and a special person.

We will always remember Jotsch fondly!
