“Clubs are not left out in the rain”
In addition to a double club fee, all clubs can look forward to further support: The Free State of Bavaria has decided on a program for a general energy price subsidy. The City Association for Sports draws attention to this. All clubs are affected with increased costs for their own sports facilities, club restaurants, increased usage fees for third-party sports facilities. A comparison of the costs in 2021 with this year serves as a basis. The clubs can send applications to the City of Bamberg, Office for Education, Schools and Sport, Maximiliansplatz 3, 96047 Bamberg, by May 15th.
Markus Habermeyer, board member of the city association for sports: “I think it’s very good that the Bavarian state government doesn’t leave the clubs out in the rain here, but supports them with increased energy costs. The clubs do a great service in our society. There is no question that they will be supported in difficult times, when everyone is faced with increased costs. Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann already took this suggestion with him at our event on the occasion of volunteering as a good idea and is now helping to ensure that the suggestion is put into practice panel discussion with the Minister of the Interior, which was very well received. Joachim Herrmann, among others, answered the many questions from the guests for almost two hours, about 30 minutes longer than planned.
The subsidy will be paid out this year as a lump sum at a maximum of 80% of the simple club lump sum to be granted. Evidence of the increased energy costs must then be provided by next year by April 30, 2024. The funds paid out in excess will then be offset by the city of Bamberg against the coming association fee for 2024 or reclaimed.
