Many restaurateurs have criticized the opening times of the beer garden. The administrative court in Augsburg has now ruled: The outdoor catering industry can remain open for longer.
While indoor catering is permitted in Bavaria until 10 p.m., beer gardens have had to close at 8 p.m. until now. Because now all beer gardens in the Free State are allowed to open longer, the curfew is from 10pm. The state government is responding to an urgent decision by the Augsburg Administrative Court, because originally the extended opening hours were only planned for Tuesday after Pentecost.
