Bavaria Riflemen Annual Meeting and New Flag Delegation Appointment

The royal proclamation and appointment of the new flag delegation were the focus of the annual meeting of the Bavaria Riflemen in the Breitner Inn. Master rifleman Matthias Schaipp welcomed those present, including many young people and the second mayor Gerti Schwertfirm (FW). The highlight was the royal proclamation. For the first time in the club’s history, women emerged as winners in both the adult and youth categories.

Julia Klinger became the new shooting queen, securing the title with a score of 35.1, ahead of Markus Pal with a score of 71.8. Last year’s king Peter Demmelmair passed the king’s chain on to his successor and sports director Katrin Obermair presented her with the king’s disc together with master marksman Matthias Schaipp. Franziska Obermair became the new youth queen with a score of 27.9, ahead of Daniel Schmidt with a score of 49.1.

The winners of the prize shooting also didn’t miss out and received gifts for their achievements at the shooting range with the air rifle. Thomas Obermair, Andreas Obermair, Michelle Lubich and Gudrun Bauer were represented here.

Marksman takes stock of the year

Previously, after commemorating the deceased members, master rifleman Matthias Schaipp gave a review of the club’s activities over the past year. The ball on Carnival Saturday, which was held together with the Gerolsbach football club, was very well attended. The event received a great response and has now developed into one of the most famous carnival balls. On Whit Saturday the traditional fish barbecue took place in front of the Schützenhaus
held, a special thank you from the shooting master went to the organizers around Markus Pal and his helpers. On June 18th, the club trip to Landsberg am Lech took place together with the fire department. After arrival, three groups started a historical city tour to experience the history and sights with the tour guides. After lunch together, the afternoon was free and many people took advantage of it for a detour to the shady Pössinger Au city park or refreshed themselves on the banks of the Lechu. In December they had a stand at the Gerolsbach Christmas market. Furthermore, minor improvements were made around the shooting center.

Looking ahead to 2024, Schaipp pointed to the Gau general assembly, the carnival ball in the Breitner inn on February 10th, the 175th anniversary of St. Andreas Church on June 23rd and the 380th anniversary of the founding of the village associations Klenau-Junkenhofen from June 27th to 30th with a four-day program.

Sports director Katrin Obermair reported on how the shooters fared in the competition. The opening target was won by Gudrun Bauer, the winner of the club championship was, as in the previous year, Wolfgang Schmid and the Christmas shooting was secured by Matthias Schaipp. In the round-robin competition, the first team is currently in third place in the Gauliga, the second representation is in first place in the F class and the newly registered third team is in third place in the H class south. The shooters were also represented in large numbers at the Raiffeisen Cup and were able to collect a number of prizes, including the one for the best Blattl by Matthias Schaipp.

Young people well represented at exercises

Youth leader Florian Wunderlich reported from his department that the young people were very well represented in the exercises and were very committed to the matter. A team was registered for the youth round-robin competition and they have gained their first experience in the competition. Franziska Obermair secured the initial youth shooting using a lucky target, while Daniel Schmidt won the club championship and the Christmas shooting.

Treasurer Anita Demmelmair presented a complete report on the income and expenses for the year and the account balances. The cash register was checked by the auditors and found to be correct, whereupon the board was unanimously discharged.
