All ongoing Corona fine proceedings in Bavaria are no longer being pursued by the authorities. The cabinet in Munich decided this.
Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) had already announced the discontinuation of all proceedings a few months ago at the CSU parliamentary group meeting. However, all procedures that have already been completed remain unaffected by the decision; fines that have already been paid or enforced will not be refunded.
According to the State Chancellery, proceedings still pending before the responsible prosecution authorities should be discontinued and the public prosecutor’s office should encourage the courts to discontinue proceedings that are still pending there. If fine notices are already legally binding, no further enforcement will take place; the outstanding fine will be waived. Fines that are still outstanding “therefore no longer have to be paid”.
This includes all fine proceedings and enforcement proceedings pending before the district administration authorities, public prosecutors and courts for administrative offenses in connection with violations of Corona legislation.
