Openings from day 7 as an important step towards normalcy –
8 hours ago
MUNICH – Regional easing of the corona restrictions can now be implemented in Bavaria one day earlier than before.
If the infection situation is stable, the district administration authority, together with the Ministry of Health, can decide to open steps as early as the 7th day after the start of a five-day phase of declining or stable incidence, said Bavarian Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) on Wednesday in Munich. So far this has been the case for the 8th day.
“Openings as early as day 7 are another important step towards normality,” said Holetschek. It has been shown that this period of time is sufficient so that appropriate preparations for the opening steps can be made on site.
Corona in Bavaria: the seven-day incidence is below 50 on Wednesday
The prerequisite for openings is that the 7-day incidence of 100 or 50 is not exceeded over five days in a district or an urban district. On this Wednesday (May 26), the 7-day incidence in Bavaria fell below the value of 50 for the first time since October 2020: According to the Robert Koch Institute, it was 45.9 (previous day: 56.6).
