Bäumli in Winterthur remains open for the time being – TOP ONLINE

In April, the city of Winterthur closed the popular Bäumli viewpoint on the Goldenberg. The measure was valid for two months. The Bäumli was only reopened in June. The authorities wanted to enforce compliance with the corona-related person restriction. Now a five-person rule applies again, but the Bäumli remains open. Michael Wirz, media spokesman for the Winterthur city police, confirms this to the «Landbote»: «The need is not emerging at the moment.»

Instead, the city police in Winterthur relies on the citizens’ own responsibility. Buses are not planned due to the current regulations. People who violate the five-person rule can only be turned away or shown. “So now, even more than in spring, we need everyone to take responsibility for themselves,” says Wirz.

There are also no plans to increase controls. Increased checks are only carried out if there are regular violations in one place. There are also no controls for compliance with the mask requirement. This measure is now known and is largely adhered to. On the other hand, there are random samples at the shops. There it will be checked whether the companies adhere to the measures.
