Good news for Baubau residents, heart and stroke patients are no longer referred outside the area. Baubau Regional Hospital has a cath lab. This is the most expensive device that is operated to treat patients suffering from this disease. How does it work? Can you explain how catlab works?

Cathlab‘s chamber has two functions, for the heart and the head. For stroke and heart patients, use this device, Cathlab.

With the support of the Ministry of Health, Budi Sadikin hopes that patients with comatose causes due to heart disease and stroke will be treated. Thank God Baubau in the Buton Islands got this machine.

When does it start working?

Actually it is already working for general patients, for BPJS patients they are still waiting for certificates from BPJS.

This is my concern, because I have been writing for almost two months, but BPJS has not responded. Who knows, maybe Buton Post can ask BPJS when they can respond to our letter regarding cathlab activity.

How many general patients have been treated so far?

I saw that there was only one, it was from nerves. At the same time, it is not yet from the heart, because this is a device that requires expensive costs, so patients are still waiting to be given through BPJS.

Does this mean patients no longer need to go to Makassar?

Wow, no need to go to Jakarta.

Are the medical staff ready?

Thank God, medical staff, including nurses and doctors, are ready. There is one homework from a radiographer, God willing, it may not be until the end of this year that we will be able to get the staff because of the course.

While I am waiting for approval from BPJS and preparation, I think once it is ready it can launch immediately.

How many patients in one month?

There are a lot of patients, I can’t count them because we usually send them directly to Makassar and Kendari.
