BAUBAU, DETIKSULTRA.COM -The Baubau City Health Service received 200 kilograms of abate or mosquito larva eradication drug from the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Health Service, Saturday (10/02/24). This abate will be used as an effort to eradicate mosquito nests in water reservoirs,
Head of the P2 Division of the Baubau City Service, Yuslina, said that this abate would be distributed to the people of Baubau City through all existing health centers. The distribution of abates itself does not only come from the Province. The regional government also budgets for the procurement of abates through the APBD so that it can meet the needs of the people of Baubau City.
“The distribution of abates will of course not necessarily be evenly distributed throughout the community, but the community health center will carry out a survey earlier and the allocation will be adjusted to the condition of the house and the potential for mosquito larvae,” he said.
Yuslina explained that abate functions to eradicate the development of dengue mosquitoes, by killing mosquito larvae and preventing them from reproducing into adult mosquitoes which will later become mosquitoes that can spread dengue fever.
Yuslina also suggested that residents who have a lot of water storage should consult with the community health center so they can get abatement according to their needs.
Abate mosquito killer medicine can be obtained directly for free at 17 community health centers/health facilities throughout Baubau City. (bds)
