Battlefield creators from DICE LA get a new name

The longstanding team at DICE LA has been given a new name. In the future it will appear as Ripple Effect Studios and will soon also start developing its first own project. Until then, the makers are still helping out with Battlefield 2042, which will appear in stores on October 22, 2021.

Together with DICE Stockholm, the team is currently working on an as yet unknown game mode for the shooter, which will be revealed in two weeks as part of EA Play Live. In the past there have been rumors from insiders who have spoken of a Battlefield Hub. This is where different maps from offshoots from that time with the Battlefield 2042 engine are to come into play as a new edition. Including the weapons and vehicles of the earlier shooters.

Then Ripple Effect would like to dedicate itself to its own project. The developers have not yet revealed what this is about. The studio is headed by Vince Zampella, who, as the head of Respawn Entertainment at the time, was involved in Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Many years ago DICE LA was still known as EA Los Angeles and was primarily responsible for the games in the Medal of Honor series.
