DICE drew the veil of the next addition to the Battlefield series, Battlefield 2042, a couple of weeks ago. In addition to new courses and Levoloution increased to a maximum, a number of game mechanical changes are introduced. These include updates for the Conquest game mode, recast soldier classes and a substantial increase in the number of players per course, which goes from 64 to 128.

To balance the latter new bots are also introduced with artificial intelligence (AI). These will partly help to fill up teams if there is a shortage of players in a session for both Conquest and Breakthrough, but also act as opponents in other game modes.
Also new is the introduction of AI Soldiers (Artificial Intelligence) to the series. As a multiplayer-only experience, it’s important for us to let you play Battlefield 2042 when and how you want. Here is what that looks like in the All-Out Warfare experience of Conquest and Breakthrough:
Multiplayer – AI soldiers are used for server-filling capabilities, ensuring your matches remain full, no matter your location.
Co-Op – Allows you to play together with friends, against AI soldiers.
Solo – If you wish to perfect your skills for multiplayer, you can even play alone against AI soldiers.

The idea behind the AI bottoms, in addition to balancing the game, is to make it possible to play in as well co-opmode or all by yourself. The majority of previous major Battlefield titles have included a single-player campaign, which also doubled as an introduction for new players. Battlefield 2042 does not receive such a promotion, but instead players can practice against the AI bottoms. It should also be possible to increase the level in that way, which previous single-player modes have not contributed to.
Battlefield 2042 launches on October 22 and available to pre-book for PC / Windows, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X / S, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
