Battipaglia, robbery at “Trade Land”: two convictions

Six years and four months in prison. Final punishment inflicted on the Neapolitan Salvatore Brunetti, 61 years old, and the fellow villager 29 years old Giuseppe Criscuolo, among the perpetrators of the sensational robbery at “Trade Land”beverage warehouse in the industrial area of Battipagliawho ended up in the sights of criminals on April 1st 2021. In the last few hours the stoats of the Second Criminal Section of the Court of Cassation (president the judge Giovanna Verga, speaker Giuseppe Coscioni) they filed the reasons for the sentence issued at the end of last January.

A verdict partially favorable to the robbers, who were able to benefit from an annulment without postponement of the rulings of the Court of Appeal of Salerno limited to the sentence of eight months (initially the sentence was seven years) for the second count indictment, by which the two were accused of complicity in the crimes of possession and possession of weapons for public use, accepting the complaints formulated by the lawyers Giuseppe Ricciulli e Carlo Ercolino: the defenders managed to demonstrate that the judges of second instance were unable to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that the weapon was pointed (probably by Brunetti himself) against the logistics manager of the Battipaglia company it wasn’t just a toy gun.

For the rest, the elements gathered by the prosecutor held up until the last level of judgment (leading to two of the accused being sentenced to six years and four months in prison). Bianca Rinaldi and by the Carabinieri of the Operational Section (captain Donato Recchia) of Norm (captain Graziano Maddalena) of the Battipaglia Company (captain Samuele Tickets), culminated, in December 2021, in the execution of a precautionary prison measure against the Torrese Gaetano Vezzi (53 years old) and under house arrest against Brunetti and Criscuolo (the other alleged accomplice, the 40 year old Ferdinando Spinelli, had been arrested 48 hours after the raid).
