Dehydration. The investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office starts from the medical certificate signed in the emergency room Salerno on the death of Andreina Pacifico. Would the 61-year-old have been saved if doctors had immediately discovered the cerebral ischemia? The nurse, who died Friday, was sent home with a misdiagnosis: dehydration. Confirmation came within a few hours. Vomiting, dizziness and vertigo never left the patient who arrived in hospital on 12 July and died on 4 October, after three months of agony in four departments of the Santa Maria della Speranza in Battipaglia.
Dehydration. It is the report that pushed the Pacifico family to contact the Nas of Salerno for the first complaint on August 20th. The nurse ended up in intensive care after a chain of errors committed by several doctors. For now these are hypotheses that the prosecutors in charge of the investigations, Mafalda Daria Cioncada ed Elena Cosentinowill have to evaluate in the next few hours and translate into warrant notices whether they find medical responsibilities, before the autopsy which will be held in Roccadaspide where Andreina’s body is kept in the morgue, under seizure.
