Yesterday an extraordinary territorial control service took place in the Municipality of Battipaglia, in response to the ever-increasing requests for security expressed by citizens. The commissioner of Salerno has ordered the intensification of controls – with preventive purposes – which were directed in multiple directions, according to the strategic directives that emerged within the Provincial Committee for public order and safety, in order to implement an effective prevention activity for all the forms of crime that cause greatest social alarm.
The service activity was concentrated in particularly degraded areas or areas exposed to the risk of widespread illegality, which affected all the most critical aspects of that coastal area: from illegal occupations, to drug trafficking, to illegal trade, illegal immigration. and prostitution. The service was carried out by police personnel from the Battipaglia police station and by 4 crews from the Campania Crime Prevention Department.
The following results were achieved during the activity:
- people checked: 120
- vehicles checked: 90
- persons reported pursuant to art.75 Presidential Decree 309/90: 1
- narcotic seized: gr.5 Hashish
- removal reports pursuant to art. 9 and 10 Legislative Decree 14/2017: 3
- people reported for violation of Daspo urban areas: 1
The services will continue in the coming periods, intensifying especially in the coastal strip which – as the summer season approaches – is about to become an increasingly popular destination for local citizens and tourists: in order to guarantee safety and tranquility for citizens, prevention remains the tool fundamental that acquires vigor and effectiveness with the constant interaction between the professionalism of the police and the collaboration of the citizens.
