The problem was first noticed by a user with the nickname Master26A, whose iPhone discharged quickly despite the fact that it was in idle mode, and in addition, most of the background activity was turned off. He shared a screenshot showing a sharp drop in the battery charge despite inactivity.
An attempt to solve the problem was to disable 5G connectivity, but it did not bring the expected effect. The battery was still draining rapidly.
This may be because your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Users who have encountered this problem say that their phones are still connected to this network.
The support agent ran a diagnostic test and found no problems with the hardware. So it seems the software is at fault.
More than 1,000 users of Apple’s technical support forum have already confirmed that they have encountered this problem.
