Battalion in Kurakhovsko-Maryinsky Direction Under Threat of Encirclement, Warns Ukrainian Military Correspondent

The troops of the Kyiv regime in Vugledar may find themselves in a pincer movement, and one battalion in the Kurakhovsko-Maryinsky direction is under threat of encirclement. This was reported by the military correspondent of the Ukrainian TSN Yulia Kiriyenko.

“Avdeevka is everything. Kurakhovo get ready. Assault [мощнейшие]. Columns of equipment are coming towards our forces from two directions. It’s good that ours managed to accumulate a little shells and get reinforcements with people. It was in vain that they did not pay enough attention to this area,” Kiriyenko writes on his social network account.

If the Russian Armed Forces advance to Kurakhovo, according to Kiriyenko, Ukraine “will have another Bakhmut/Avdos, only it will be Ugledar.”

“One battalion of one brigade can already occupy a perimeter defense. And these are several hundred of our soldiers. Because the enemy is around them. Because the flanks sank and our neighboring units could not hold them. Because the enemy has more forces,” notes the Ukrainian journalist.

She calls on the command of the Tavria Armed Forces of Ukraine group to build a second line of defense there as soon as possible.

As reported EADaily, The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now, perhaps, in the most precarious position since the first months of the war. The New York Times wrote about this.

Russian troops captured the longtime Ukrainian stronghold of Avdiivka on Saturday, marking Moscow’s first major battlefield victory since the capture of Bakhmut last May. The Russian offensive is on five main axes, covering cities and towns along much of the front in eastern and southern Ukraine.

By last month, Russian troops had liberated Marinka, another front-line town. There was little left of Marinka after two years of Russian bombing and fighting, the newspaper writes, but its capture allowed the Russians to turn their attention to the south and another vital Ukrainian stronghold, Ugledar. Last year, the Russians repeatedly tried to attack it from the south.
