Why does Batman have a star in Hollywood?

Batman, the superhero created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, debuted in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, and has been one of the most popular and profitable characters in literature and pop culture worldwide.

Although he was not the first superhero in history, his legacy has spanned decades, and continues to be adapted to different formats, from television to film, even with adaptations for his secondary characters.

The television series starring Adam West, which debuted in 1966, was a cultural phenomenon, with the title song, composed by Neal Hefti, winning a Grammy and peaking at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The cinematic evolution of the ‘Dark Knight’ began in 1989 with Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, leading to Batman to become one of the most popular superheroes in the history of modern cinema.

This work was followed by directors such as Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder and most recently Matt Reeves, who have contributed to the hero’s success on the big screen, generating more than $6.8 billion at the global box office, with a total of 13 films that have been released in theaters and in which the Bat is the protagonist.

However, the ‘Dark Knight’ has participated in a real total of 66 films, according to the IMDb site, many of these animated and which did not reach the big screen, or where Batman has secondary roles, such as those of The Justice League o Superman. They are also counted spin-off of its supporting characters, such as Joker, Harley Quinn and its multiple ‘Robins’.

The Batman soundtrack is another of its points of influence, with the most iconic superhero themes in cinema in any of its versions thanks to the work of composers such as Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer, who have created a mark, with several awards, Oscar nominations, and prominent positions on the Billboard.

With such a prolific legacy in film, in addition to its multiple television adaptations, there is no doubt that Bruce Wayne’s alter ego has earned his star, which will be presented to him at an event broadcast live through the website of the Walk of Fameallowing fans around the world to witness the ceremony.
