A 45-year-old woman was rescued this Sunday, around 6 pm, at Garajau beach. The bather, according to information provided by the captain of the Port of Funchal, was in the East Zone of this bathing area and was unable to return to the starting point.

Now, the rescue was established in coordination between the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Subcenter and the Regional Civil Protection Service, with a vessel from the Aid Institute for Shipwrecks being engaged, which carried out the rescue at 18h15. Ten minutes later the bather was dropped off at Garajau beach.
The local command of the Funchal Maritime Police took care of the occurrence.
