The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, was seen shedding tears today. He was seen crying when he announced that the performance allowances for PUPR Ministry employees would increase at the end of this year.
“And I just received news from Mr. Binsar (Special Staff of the Minister of PUPR), so hopefully our Tukin adjustment proposal has been approved by the Minister of Finance,” said Basuki in the ESG Lecture agenda: Application of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Principles ) on the Provision of PUPR Infrastructure and Colloquium for the Young Generation of PUPR, at the PUPR Ministry Office, South Jakarta, Thursday (30/11/2023).
Basuki then admitted that he had personally asked the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati about this. According to him, this could be announced on December 3. He said that Sri Mulyani had agreed to this.
“I really asked the Minister of Finance (sobbing) to announce this on December 3. And this, the Minister of Finance has agreed to that. Hopefully our tukin (increase) will be 100%,” he continued sobbing.
He then emphasized that the welfare of PUPR Ministry employees was his responsibility as a minister. However, after giving employees their rights, Basuki also advised his employees to carry out their duties as well as possible.
“That is my obligation to all of you, after I convey my obligations, I ask for my rights. Those who work, go to the right school, do the right work. I have given my obligation to pay attention to the welfare of the brothers, so it’s fair. You have the right to pay attention, but you have an obligation to the PUPR Ministry organization,” he explained.
Before closing his remarks, Basuki also encouraged the PUPR Ministry employees.
“Are you ready?he asked.
“Ready!” shouted the audience.
