PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono followed up President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) directives regarding the Jakarta International Stadium (HE) as stated by Menpora Dito Ariotedjo. Basuki will coordinate with PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir.
“I will coordinate with him (PSSI General Chairperson) as soon as possible, if it really needs to be renovated, renovated,” said Basuki at the PUPR Ministry, as reported by BetweenJakarta, Thursday (29/6/2023).
Basuki will check directly with JIS after meeting with Erick Thohir. For him, the crucial things at JIS Stadium are access and parking. The experience of Dewa’s music concert at JIS some time ago showed that concertgoers experienced difficulties when they returned home from JIS.
“Later we will evaluate it first. I want to coordinate first with the general chairman (Ketum) of PSSI Erick Thohir,” he said.
Meanwhile, Basuki emphasized that the stadium previously prepared for the U-20 World Cup could be used for the U-17 World Cup.
There are 26 stadiums prepared for the U-20 World Cup, with the six main stadiums for matches located in Palembang, Jakarta, Solo, Bandung, Bali and Surabaya.
