Bastia: “Spampilla”, a “sparkling” creative palette by Béatrice de Casalta

In his shop, at 27 de la rue César-Campinchi a Bastiathere are lamps, jewelry storeof the perfumesof the watercolors… A range of creations that bear witness to the richness and diversity of the artist’s palette from Beatrice Hélène de Casalta.

He’s in his studio, in the Cape Corsicawho designs and designs his models that he shows in his shop in Bastia and who make the originality and inventiveness of the “Spampilla” brand that he created in 2015.

Let’s discover the touch, Béatrice de Casalta’s trademark with her reeds handmade according to tradition by Sardinian fishermen which she transforms into refined and elegant lighting (floor or pendant lamps, appliques and floor lamps) and which she associates in her new range with stainless steel.

After these first creations, Béatrice de Casalta launched a jewelry collection which then expanded, diversified and focused on jewelry. First there was costume jewellery, then she imagined jewels incorporating semi-precious and precious stones, such as this year’s “Immortelle joaillerie” collection, which combines diamonds, sapphires, yellow or white gold. “The immortelle is one of the emblems of Corsica. The colors and smells of the Corsican maquis inspire me”, trust the designer who has “large between Bastia and Balagne” before living in Paris and then returning to Corsica.

He chooses the stones that will serve as raw materials for his creations from three workshops in India with which he has worked for several years and has the gold plating done in Bastia.

The designer presented her new collection last September at the 2022 edition of “Première Classe”, a fashion accessories fair in Paris; her jewels are also present in a boutique in Liège.

The scents of childhood

“Spampilla” are also perfumes like the one baptized 99, Boulevard Haussmann, “Suddenly” to his grandparents. It was made by the workshop of the Duchesse de Ponte Novu and Dominique Bremondi with a Grasse nose. A fruitful collaboration of which she is delighted, “I rediscovered the smells of my childhood”underlines, nostalgic, Béatrice de Casalta.

These perfumes are perfumes but also candles that the designer has combined, since last year, with porcelain.

You can also see his watercolors in his shop. “Everythingcreated a universe. I have always drawn and have been interested in the plastic arts since my childhood.”

His career as a designer began when he attended courses at the Itecom design school in Nice from 2009 to 2011 to be an interior designer, then he learned, during an internship in Paris, to thread the old pearls, then left for India where choose your stones. It was a real challenge. “In Nice I went back to school at 39, dealt with students my son’s age and was older than some teachers”, he said smiling.

Béatrice de Casalta has started presenting her creations at Creation, the Bastia design festival, of which she is a loyal fan. “He got me started” she points out.

Since then, she has continued to move forward, through encounters that have marked her career as a designer, and continues to imagine new collections at the rate of one a year.
