Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef joined the judging panel of the talent search program “Arab’s Got Talent” in its seventh season, whose episodes are scheduled to be filmed soon in Saudi Arabia, after a break five years.
Youssef became famous in the Arab world through the satirical program “The Program” in 2013 during the Arab Spring uprising, but he was politically persecuted by the regime of the President Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, so he left the country for the United States, where he received citizenship.
Youssef’s participation in “Arabs Got Talent” represents his return to Arab television screens after a break of about 10 years, noting that he worked as a doctor for over 13 years before he gained widespread fame on YouTube and then presented a political comedy on television.
