The Caracal crew will come to carry out a rescue mission at sea, in collaboration with the SNSM this Wednesday, October 6 in Anglet. The opportunity for young and old to discover a “Caracal” of the Air Force.
Exercise in the early afternoon
This helicopter, which belongs to the Air Force, is capable of accomplishing search and rescue missions over a long distance at a cruising speed of 275 km / h.
The exercise will take place from 2.15 p.m. in front of the Espace de l’Océan in Anglet. The helicopter will then land at 2:45 p.m. in front of the Cave of the Chambre d’Amour where it will park until 4:30 p.m. for a meeting and discussion with young Angloys.
Entrusted to the Air Force, the SAR mission is one of its permanent missions. This public service mission on the national territory mobilizes helicopters on alert 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to intervene and carry out air-sea (SAMAR) or air-land (SATER) rescues.
