The top teams in the French men’s basketball championship kept pace on Saturday afternoon, winning away for Monaco and Villeurbanne, at home for Strasbourg, while Dijon plays in the evening in Boulogne -Levallois.

After two consecutive losses against Dijon and Villeurbanne last week, the players of the Monegasque Roca Team have perfectly rectified the situation this week with three victories, the most recent on Saturday on the floor of the CSP Limoges 75 to 59, after being abused for the first two quarters (36-35 at the break).

With this 20th success of the season in 24 matches played, Zvezdan Mitrovic’s players keep the championship lead with the best winning ratio (83%). They have ten games to go by mid-June, when the Elite season is due to end.

The National Basketball League intends to end the season and award the league title on a Final 8 organized after the regular season, but the 18 Elite captains have sent a letter to the LNB not to organize this Final 8, while the international teams will need to be released for international windows.

Behind Monaco, Villeurbanne continues by winning in the room of Pau-Orthez 90 to 84, while Asvel, reigning French champion (2019), was still behind at the start of the last ten minutes (77-74 ).

Thomas Heurtel with 18 points and Guerschon Yabusele with 19 points, perfectly celebrated their selection with the France team for the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer (23 July-8 August).

TJ Parker’s men have won for the 20th time in 26 matches played (77%) and remain in 3rd place behind Dijon (81%), which faces the Metropolitans 92 in the evening.

Last team in this top quartet, Strasbourg enforced logic by winning against Gravelines in their Rhénus 83 to 64, despite a small fear at the end of the third quarter, when the Northerners returned to eight points.

SIG won their 17th game of the season (71%) and, like Monaco, have another 10 games to play until the end of the season.
