Basketball returns to the WiZink Center. Almost four months after the victory in the second game of the Endesa League final against UCAM Murcia last year, Real Madrid will play its first home game of the season. It will be on the second day of the League against Casademont Zaragoza. Chus Mateo’s team will try to add to their winning streak in this competition.
Our team plays a demanding game in front of its fans and wants the WiZink Center to become an impregnable court. They receive a team that has been greatly strengthened with the arrival of Euroleague players such as point guard Spissu and center Dubljevic, in addition to keeping Bell-Haynes, AJ Slaughter, Yusta and Sulejmanovic, among others. All six finished with double figures in scoring in the victory against Hiopos Lleida in overtime.
The Madridistas are looking for continuity in their game to start taking off. After the significant casualties, the team is coming together. Rathan-Mayes is becoming more and more adapted, as was seen in Munich, and has to be one of the team’s offensive references. Campazzo has started the season at a high level and is our team’s top scorer this start with an average of 19.2 points and a PIR of 22.2.
Streak at home
To date, Real Madrid has won in all 17 visits by the Zaragoza team to our field. A streak that began in 2009. Since then, we have remained undefeated. The last precedent at the WiZink Center between both teams was the 101-70 victory last season.
